A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.

What I Do

Mankind has created artistic images of the world around him ever since the beginning of recorded history.  Starting with the first smelting of metals, sculptures have been part of man’s attempt to add beauty and permanence to his existence. Bronze sculptures have been excavated from ancient cities of Mesopotamia, in the tombs of Chinese emperors, and at Pompeii and Herculaneum. This art form was lost for centuries, but during the Renaissance period bronze sculptures again came to the forefront of art.  The Industrial Revolution provided the tools necessary to make bronze sculptures more readily available in various sizes that would vault them to the top of the art world once again. The Bronze Age preceded the digital age by several millennia, but it continues to persist as our most permanent, durable art form for both private and public art, which is why I chose decades ago to embrace bronze as my primary medium.
